SUBTHEME: EVIDENCE OF ADVANCEMENT AND ALL ROUND FRUITFULNESS
TOPIC: FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
TEXT: GALATIANS 5:22-23
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He has been sent by the Father and Son to indwell and guide believers. The Holy Spirit is a living person; He can be approached or shunned, doubted or trusted, loved or hated, adored or hated. He is our comforter and reason for our advancement and fruitfulness.
The fruit of the spirit is nine in one fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness/mildness of temper, and self-control.
Fruit is an evidence of death according to John 12:24: “Except a corn of wheat... die, it abideth alone." If we are not dead, we will bring forth the works of the flesh and not the fruit of the Spirit.
Bearing the fruit of the Spirit is evidence that we have been crucified with Christ as believers.
Many are fruitless because they have not been crucified, so they continue to abide alone (John 15:1-2). If we must have all-round fruitfulness and advance this year, we must abide in Christ and be led by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the source of our all-round fruitfulness and the Leader/Pilot of our unlimited advancement because nothing can limit Him. “With God, all things are possible; to those who believe...” (Matt.19:26)
The only way we can have evidence of advancement and fruitfulness is by clinging to the Holy Spirit and totally obeying His dictates/commandments... ”If you love me, obey my commandment.” (John 14:15)
When you bear the fruit of the Spirit, you will not be faulted by any law, be it spiritual, natural, or traditional.
The consistent manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit in the life of a believer is evidence of his/her advancement and all-round fruitfulness.
PRAYER POINTS:
* Lord, teach to commune more with the Holy Spirit.
* Oh Lord, let the Holy Spirit be my companion, my partner, comrade, with whom I will have intimate fellowship moment by moment.
* Oh God, grant me grace not to grieve the Holy Spirit by whom I have been sealed unto the day of redemption. Amen.
