Today's passage reveals to us what we get when we live a life of humility. Humility is about honouring, regarding, and giving preference to God and others. It means reverence, awe, understanding, and recognition of who God is and who we are. A humble heart acknowledges God in all his ways and turns to Him with total gratitude.
Great are the rewards that follow a humble heart. Matt 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." Meekness can bring one to the limelight and earn him generational recognition as identified in the life of Moses (Numbers 12:3).
Paul tells us that God lifted Jesus because of humility "…being found in the appearance as a man; He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name…” (Philippians 2:8-9. NKJV).
Humility guarantees unlimited advancement, God's grace, and divine intervention. James 4:6 ....God resisteth the proud and giveth grace unto the humble. Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up (James 4:10).
As Christains, one of the things we must learn to do if we must enjoy all-round fruitfulness is to be humble. (James 4:10). It may not seem important, but the truth remains that humility is one of the principles that brings advancement.
𝓟𝓻𝓪𝔂𝓮𝓻: Lord, terminate pride in my life and help me to live a life of humility daily that I may inherit your blessings in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
